Frequently asked

The key questions up front

Your question isn’t here? A quick call usually sorts it out faster than any list.

What does the website cost, and what comes on top later?

A one-off €1,800 gross (incl. 20% VAT) for design, copy and build, or €3,600 with your own CMS. That’s a fixed price, not hourly billing. Running costs are €30 a month for hosting and maintenance and from €24 a month for the domain; only a highly sought-after name costs more. The price works because every website runs on the same proven technology and we only craft the design and content for your business.

Is this a site builder like Wix, or a WordPress site?

Neither. Your website runs on our own technology, which we maintain and improve for all customers together. There are no plugins for you to update, and you don’t have to piece anything together yourself. Security updates, backups and keeping the site online are part of hosting and maintenance.

What do I get with the free draft, and what if I don’t like it?

A real draft with your trade, your services and, if you have one, content from your current site, as a link you can open on your phone. If you don’t like it, tell us what should change, or simply leave it. There are no costs. We only send a quote if you want to go ahead.

How long am I tied in?

Monthly add-ons can be cancelled at the end of any month. Hosting and maintenance and the domain have a minimum term, stated in the quote; after that they can be cancelled monthly too. If you want to move to another provider, we help with the move.

Who owns the website if I switch one day?

The texts, photos and domain are yours. When you switch, you take everything with you. You stay with us because the service suits you, not because you’re stuck.

Who writes the texts, and where do the photos come from?

We write the texts, from your notes or a short phone call. Send us photos of sites, workshop and team straight from your phone; we pick and edit them. If good pictures are missing, we bridge the gap with suitable licensed photos or come by for a photo shoot (add-on).

Do I have to do anything on a computer?

No. We agree everything by phone or email, and you look at the draft and every correction on your phone. We handle updates and technology. If you want to post projects and vacancies yourself, choose the package with CMS. You don’t have to: otherwise just send your changes to us.

What has to go in the legal notice, and can my master craftsman title go on the site?

In Austria the legal notice follows the E-Commerce Act, in Germany the Digital Services Act (DDG). It usually includes company name, address, contact details, company register entry, VAT ID and, where required, the responsible chamber or authority. Our free legal notice generator gives you a draft; the details themselves come from you. We show your master craftsman title if you have passed the master examination, using the exact wording on your certificate.

Your website needs a legal notice (Impressum). In Austria the rules come from the E-Commerce-Gesetz (ECG), in Germany from the Digitale-Dienste-Gesetz (DDG). Which details you need depends on your legal form and your trade. Our free legal notice generator helps you draft it, but responsibility for the details stays with you. If in doubt, ask your chamber (WKO in Austria, Handwerkskammer in Germany).

We make data protection easy for you: no tracking tools, no advertising cookies, and external content such as maps only after a click. Everything is built to WCAG AA, the usual standard for accessible websites.

Technology and support

You don’t have to look after servers or install updates. Hosting, security, backups and domain are all handled by us. If something goes down, we are the first to deal with it, not you.

We answer questions by phone or email, in plain language without jargon. You talk to the same team that built your website.

Content, languages and ownership

German and English are included in the package. Further languages such as Turkish, Croatian, Polish or Russian are added for a one-off fee per language. We go through the translations with you so the trade terms are right.

Texts, photos and domain belong to you. If you ever want to move on, you take everything with you.

Quick answers

More questions

Do I even need a website as a sole trader?

If you get enough work through recommendations, maybe not right away. But people who are recommended to you still look you up online before they call. An up-to-date website with past projects and contact details turns that search into a phone call.

Can I keep my existing domain?

Yes. We transfer the domain from your current provider and take care of the switch. If you want, we move your email mailboxes over as well.

Is the offer for businesses in both Austria and Germany?

Yes. We are based in Vienna and look after businesses in both countries. We adapt the legal notice, terms and examples to your country, for instance Installateur in Austria or SHK in Germany, Tischler or Schreiner.

What happens if I give up my trade licence or hand over the business?

If you hand the business over, we update the name, legal notice and contact people, and the website keeps running. If you close the business, you cancel hosting and domain once the minimum term has ended. You can also keep the domain or transfer it.
