How we work with you

From the first measurements to handover

  1. Step 1

    Showroom visit or photos

Bring your questions to Sonnenallee or send us a few photos of the floor. That's often enough for a first estimate.

  2. Step 2

    Measuring and test sanding

On site we measure up, check how much wood is left and sand a small test patch on old boards.

  3. Step 3

    Fixed price and date

You get a written quote. We also tell you how long the rooms must stay off-limits.

  4. Step 4

    Sanding, laying, oiling

Doors and radiators get taped off, the sanders run with extraction. A 60 m² flat usually takes three days.

  5. Step 5

    Handover and care kit

We check the floor together with you and leave care products and instructions so the finish lasts.

  • „Under the carpet were floorboards with paint residue and gaps up to a centimetre. Now it's the nicest room in the flat. And the dust really was minimal.“

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

+49 30 123456
How often can parquet be sanded?

That depends on the wear layer. Solid strip parquet can often take five to eight sandings, engineered parquet with a 3.5 mm top layer two to three, with 2.5 mm usually only one. We check it when measuring up, at a skirting board or heating pipe.

Oil or lacquer: which is better?

Lacquer is low-maintenance and protects well in kitchens, hallways and with pets. Oil feels warmer, can be touched up locally and needs refreshing every one to two years. In the showroom you can try both barefoot.

Do we have to move out during sanding?

No. We work room by room or in two sections. Oiled surfaces can be walked on carefully after 24 hours, lacquered ones after about 12. You should wait three to four days before putting full weight of furniture back.

Can new parquet be laid on old floorboards?

Yes, if the boards are solid. We screw them down, level with wood fibre or chipboard panels and glue the parquet on top. The build-up height rises by about 2 cm, so doors sometimes need shortening.

Do I need permission as a tenant?

Usually not for sanding and re-oiling, but yes for a new floor covering. It's best to clarify it in writing with the property management first. We're happy to send you a short description of the work to forward.

Do I need an appointment for the showroom?

No, just drop in during opening hours. If you'd like a detailed consultation with Marek Kowalski, call ahead, as he's usually on site in the mornings.

A call or a short message with a few photos is enough. We get back to you by the next working day at the latest with an appointment or a first price range.
