Made-to-measure kitchens
Planned to the centimetre, even for crooked old walls and sloping ceilings. Fronts in solid wood, veneer or lacquer, appliances of your choice.
Built-in furniture and wardrobes
Hallway units, wall cabinets, wardrobes under sloping roofs and alcoves where no shop-bought cabinet fits.
Solid wood furniture
Dining tables, corner benches and beds in oak, walnut, larch or spruce. Oiled or waxed so you can still feel the wood.
Interior and front doors
Solid wood front doors with multi-point locking and interior doors that match the parlour. Also replicas for listed buildings.
Staircases
Stringer, bolt-fixed and cut-string staircases in oak or larch. We re-clad old stairs if the structure is still sound.
Reclaimed wood and Swiss stone pine
Stone pine bedrooms, parlours and wall panelling from sun-weathered reclaimed wood from Tyrolean barns. Every board is unique.
How we work
What we do differently from a furniture store
A piece from a joinery costs more than one from a catalogue. In return you know where the wood comes from, who worked it and who to call in 20 years when a hinge needs adjusting.
Wood from the region
We buy spruce, larch and stone pine from two sawmills in the Zillertal and Achental valleys. Oak and walnut come from Austria and Bavaria.
Our own workshop
Everything is made on Innsbrucker Straße, from cutting to finishing. Nothing is bought in and just relabelled.
Fitted by our own people
No subcontractors. Whoever fits it in your home helped build it in the workshop and knows where it can be adjusted.
Care instructions included
Every piece comes with a sheet listing the wood species, finish and care, plus a small bottle of care oil for oiled surfaces.
A wardrobe should close just as well after 30 years as it did on the first day. That's what we measure ourselves by.

About us
Three generations, one workshop
Alois Steiner started in 1962 with a workbench and a band saw in the barn behind the house. He built farmhouse wardrobes, windows and coffins, whatever was needed.
Today we are eleven people, three of them apprentices, and mainly make kitchens, built-in furniture and Tyrolean parlours. The equipment has changed. What hasn't changed is that every piece is built in Schwaz and fitted by the same people who made it.
- Master joinery in its 3rd generation
- Planning, production and fitting from one team
- Free measuring in the Schwaz district
- Training company with three apprentices

What customers say about our work
„Our kitchen in the old farmhouse doesn't have a single straight wall. Mr Steiner measured twice, and in the end every filler panel fits to the millimetre. We were allowed to see the fronts in the workshop beforehand.“
„The old front door was listed. The new one looks exactly the same but seals tight and has multi-point locking. The heritage office approved it without objection.“
Michael HallerLarch front door, 2024Review on Google „The room still smells of stone pine when you open the door. The wardrobes under the slope use every centimetre.“
Sandra RieserStone pine bedroom, 2024Review on Google
„Flawless workmanship, the staircase is a gem. We waited two weeks longer than originally planned for delivery, but it was clearly explained why.“
Florian MairStaircase, 2025Review on Google „My parents had their parlour made by Steiner in 1979 and it's still flawless today. Now we ordered our hallway unit from the grandson. Same quality, same handshake.“

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Question not answered here? Give us a call, we are happy to advise.
How long does a kitchen take from measuring to fitting?
Usually ten to fourteen weeks. Two to three weeks for planning and sign-off, the rest is production. Fitting itself takes two to four days depending on size and appliances.
Is a made-to-measure kitchen much more expensive than one from a store?
With comparable features we are often 15 to 30 % above a good kitchen studio. In return there are no filler panels, no chipboard carcasses and one contact for the decades to come. A 4-metre kitchen starts at around €14,000 with us, excluding appliances.
Can we buy the appliances ourselves?
Yes, of course. Send us the model numbers before planning so the installation dimensions are right. We fit the appliances during installation, and a licensed electrician connects the oven and hob.
Why stone pine in the bedroom?
Because many people like the warm, resinous scent that lasts for years, and because the wood is soft and light in colour. We make no medical promises. What matters to us is that the stone pine stays untreated or only lightly oiled, otherwise the scent is lost.
Do you also repair old furniture?
Yes, if it's worth it: farmhouse wardrobes, chests, tables with a history. We look at the piece and tell you honestly whether restoration makes sense or a replica would be cheaper.
Is there a charge for measuring?
Not in the Schwaz district or as far as Innsbruck. For kitchen planning with a 3D drawing we charge €290, which is fully credited if you place the order.
